IT’S A NEW DAY-IGNORANCE IS OUT & CLASS IS IN!

obama-family

Politics aside……

Brilliance, articulation, class and poise is in!  Ignorance, self-hatred and buffoonery is out!

Barack Obama’s education, intelligence and class put him on the path to the White House and now he’s President of the United States.

It’s time to pull up your sagging pants and get an education.  Being a ignorant uneducated thug limits your choices in life and can lead to a life of crime which could land you in prison.  Why not do what Obama did? Make something of yourself through education and intelligence, it landed him in the White House and not in a jail cell.

This is a new day. People have shown they are tired of negativity, that’s why rap sales are way down.  The only way a rap album goes platinum is when the record label buys up copies.  The negativity of rap, such as: bitch, ho, trick, as well as celebrating prison culture, encouraging violence and crime no longer sales because people want to see positive images of blacks, like the picture above.

It was a sad day when Nas and Kelis walked the red carpet in matching jackets spelling out the N-word.  This distasteful stunt did nothing for Nas’s record sales, the album was a flop and Kelis still doesn’t have a record deal.

It was a sad day when rappers decided to boycott Cristal champagne but remained silent about degrading rap lyrics directed towards black women (a more important issue).

It’s a sad day when networks geared towards us only show videos 24/7, dumbing the younger generation down.  Why not show black history segments, business features and shows featuring stock market and finance tips.

After Obama’s victory, it was refreshing to hear “empowerment” music with meaningful lyrics.  Example: “A Change Is Gonna Come,” by Sam Cooke.

It was a sad day when rapper Soulja Boy gave a shout out to slave owners.

Flavor Of Love, I Love New York and the Real Housewives Of Atlanta are disgraceful and depict blacks in stereotypical buffoon type roles. Yet, these shows score the highest ratings in black households . Will their ever be a reality show depicting intelligent and educated blacks?  Please stop supporting this type of ignorance because it’s a new day.

We need to stop idolizing and embracing this type of coonery.  Instead of calling successful blacks sell-outs and white orientated, we need to ask them, what is the secret to success? And then we need to emulate them.  Members of the super elite Boule include: Bill Cosby, Bryant Gumbel, Earl Graves, Vernon Jordan, the late Arthur Ashe and John H. Johnson yet this successful organization has been called Uncle Tomish, why?  Because every black member is a millionaire?  Why are we the only race that slams success but embrace underachievement.

Instead of idolizing male and female rappers and professional athletes, we should be idolizing Barack and Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Magic Johnson,Vernon Jordan, Cathy Hughes, Sylvia Rhone and Hill Harper.  All of these people are intelligent millionaires and billionaires who walk the walk and talk the talk.

We also need to respect each other.  Women, let men be men and support your man in his endeavors the way Michelle supported Obama in his dream to become President of the United States.

Men, respect your women.  Oprah Winfrey (a black woman) was a huge help to Obama’s campaign and used her show as an launching pad for his campaign.  Michelle Obama, another black woman encouraged his run for the White House.

We need to get back to loving and respecting each other.  Hopefully this White House win can heal some of the wounds between Black men and Black women.

Black love is a beautiful thing!

Ignorance (thugs) is out and intelligence is in!

An open letter to white voters, or what McCain really thinks of you

zyglis

This is a great open-letter from Racialicious’ Carmen Van Kerckhove highlighting how McCain/Palin have continually insulted their white constituency. Remove the wool for your eyes and free yourself people.

Dear white voter,

Sorry, was that too direct? Sarah Palin loves calling you “Joe Six Pack” and “hockey mom.” Perhaps I too, should use one of 68 possible euphemisms to refer to you instead.

I want to ask you a simple question: Which candidate — McCain or Obama — do you think has a higher opinion of your character?

John McCain has spent the last couple of weeks asking ominously: “Who is the real Barack Obama?”

Sarah Palin hasn’t hesitated to supply an answer to this question. She declared at a Florida rally on Monday that Barack Obama “is not a man who sees America the way you and I see America. I’m afraid this is someone who sees America as imperfect enough to work with a former domestic terrorist who had targeted his own country.”

And as CNN’s Campbell Brown pointed out in her commentary Wednesday night, McCain surrogates have made a point of calling the Democratic candidate “Barack Hussein Obama” at least twice this week.

The McCain campaign is doing its best to paint Obama as a shadowy Manchurian candidate who is un-American, unpatriotic, dangerous, sympathetic to terrorists, and possibly even a secret Muslim (needless to say, that’s a bad thing in their eyes).

That much is obvious.

But what does their strategy say about what they think of you, the white voter?

Judging from their messaging, they seem to be stereotyping white voters as closed-minded, paranoid, naive, xenophobic, and just a tad bit racist.

And they are certainly connecting successfully with people who match this profile. Read the rest of this entry »
